Anhui Medical University located in Hefei, Anhui province of China is a Public University established in the year 1926. Currently there are total 16,673 students studying at the University in different departments. 8,867 of them are studying at under graduate level, 179 of them are studying in doctoral program and the remaining in the school of extended education.

In 1926 Dongnan Medical College was the predecessor of Anhui Medical University in Shanghai. In 1949 the University changed its location to Anhui Province, Huaiyuan Country and then finally to the capital city of Anhui Province, Hefei. Anhui Medical University was named after Dongnan Medical College in the year 1952. Anhui Medical College was renamed as Anhui Medical University in June 1996 as approved by the National Committee on Education. Anhui Medical University has won many awards. It is known for its quality teaching and also got second prize for teaching. The organization of "Overseas Legion has been launched by Anhui Medical University for an extensive highest-level talent attraction, specifically for foreign students. The University hostel is very huge and is located within the campus. There is separate hostel for both boys and girls and are provided with all facilities inside the hostel. Safety and security is very tight. Students are not allowed to enter the hostel without a biometric entry.
